Spirit of Service with Frank Ostaseski

Life awakens us to continuous opportunities for service.  In this series we will explore how service is a natural expression of our humanity.  We will reflect on  the meaning and place of service in our personal and professional lives. Through mediation, inquiry and group discussion we will discover the true heart of service and the shadows that obscure it.  We will investigate the call to service and the common roadblocks of roles, isolation, perfectionism and the ways we distance ourselves from suffering that hinder our capacity to fully express our compassion.

Frank Ostaseski is an internationally respected Buddhist teacher, visionary co-founder of the Zen Hospice Project, and founder of the Metta Institute. He has lectured at Harvard Medical School, the Mayo Clinic, leading corporations such as Google and Apple Inc., and teaches at major spiritual centers worldwide. In 2018, he received the prestigious Humanities Award from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He has accompanied over 1000 individuals through the dying process and has trained thousands of healthcare professionals and caregivers worldwide. His groundbreaking work has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and honored by H.H. the Dalai Lama. He is the author of “The Five Invitations: Discovering What Death Can Teach Us About Living Fully” (Arnoldo Mondadori) and “Sapere Accompagnare” (Arnoldo Mondadori).
